Movies To See This Summer

Here's a list of some of the movies I'm excited about seeing this summer. Some drew my interest month's ago by the simple mention of production, while others grabbed me with interesting trailers or clips. Some of these you're sure to know about, others you probably haven't heard of. So grab some popcorn and enjoy these upcoming flicks! (Movies listed in no particular order).

Little Miss Sunshine
Greg Kinnear, Steve Carrell, that's enough for me. These indie dramedy's are becoming a little mundane, but this one looks to have some great performances and a fun little story.

A Scanner Darkly
I've been waiting on this one for a while. Philip K. Dick's stories are always thrilling and the visuals on this one look amazing. I haven't seen Linklater's other roto-scope film but I need to.

The Breakup
Any movie with Vince Vaughn is a must see for me and with Jennifer Aniston added it's sure to be at least an entertaining and eye-pleasing flick. The clips and trailers that I've seen hint at this being the funniest movie of the summer, though there isn't really any competition.

The Fountain Don't know much about the film, except that the trailer is fantasic, the book's author is terrific and the film maker makes good movies.

Clerks 2
Clerks 2 Teaser
Clerks is a classic and Kevin Smith makes good movies.

Fastfood Nation
Greg Kinnear again. The trailer reminds of 'Thank You For Smoking', which I thoroughly enjoyed. Looks like an interesting flick with some good laughs an important message.

Special
I hadn't heard anything about this movie until yesterday. The trailer really excites me, this looks like possibly the best movie of the year. Micheal Rapaporte, who I never considered more than a comic, looks to give an amazing performance in this film about a man who has an adverse affect to some drugs and comes to believe he has super powers. Very excited for this one.

Brick Clip 1
Brick Clip 2
Brick Clip 3
Brick Clip 4
Supposedly a modern verion of old film noir flicks. Looks like it could be interesting, but also could be a bit too much of a study in style instead of telling a good story.

I Am A Sex Addict
Looks amusing.

The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Gridiron Gang
I'm a sucker for these ragtag sport teams turn into champions despite great obstacles movies. Should be entertaining.

Lady In The Water
This one look's very odd, but Shymalan always makes great films. I don't think he'll let us down.

Tenacious D: The Pick Of Destiny
Should be hilarious.

Snakes On A Plane
Should be terrible. So bad, in fact, I expect it to be absolutely wonderful. Possibly the best popcorn movie of this summer, ironic unintentional satire and all. "Enough is enough. I've had it with these snakes!"

Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest
Good times are guaranteed to be had.
